Manipur Scientists honoured with CSB Best Scientist award

Dr. Sinam Subharani Devi, Scientist-D and Head of the Central Silk Board-Regional Sericulture Research Station (RSRS), Imphal, has been conferred the CSB Best Scientist Award by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The award recognises her outstanding contribution in research and development, seed production, and extension activities.
The award was presented today at the Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre, University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) campus, Bangalore, during the 76th Foundation Day celebrations of the Central Silk Board.
Alongside, Kangjam Somorjit Singh, Senior Technical Assistant of CSB-RSRS, Imphal, was honoured with the CSB Best Technical Assistant Award for his contributions in research support, seed production, extension, and coordination activities.
The Central Silk Board also recognised the best performing districts and outstanding contributors under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) Campaign, aimed at sericulture technology transfer and empowering rural silk farmers, particularly women, with advanced techniques and sustainable practices.
In this category, Dr. Sinam Subharani Devi and K. Tahenleima Chanu, Assistant Director (Sericulture), Manipur and District Co-ordinator, Bishnupur, jointly received recognition for their dedicated efforts in effectively implementing the MRMA campaign in Bishnupur District.
