Manipur’s CSOs ready to meet RN Ravi

Imphal, Jan. 14: Leaders of the Manipur Civil Society organisations, who were invited for consultative meeting by the Indian Interlocutor RN Ravi, some days back on Jan 20, are all set to leave for New Delhi to attend the meeting.
Earlier, the leaders of the civil society bodies had expressed reluctance to attend the meeting however after deliberation on the pros and cons of meeting the Indian Interlocutor among the organisation the civil society leaders had finally resolved to meet RN Ravi.
Source said that 20 representatives from civil society organisations including representatives of Kuki civil society, Naga CSO and AMUCO, CCSK, UCM will attend the meeting. They are expected to reach New Delhi on January 17.
Mention may be made that Indian interlocutor RN Ravi had convened meeting with the Manipur CSOs twice here in Imphal to consult the issue of the NSCN-IM which had recently signed frame work agreement with the government of India.
The meeting this time is significant as the frontal body of the NSCN-IM , UNC has been ensuing prolonged economic blockade along the national highway.
The meeting is also expected to discussed about the prolonged economic blockade on High ways. UNC representatives will also attend the meeting.
