Manipur ready to give warm reception to Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Security beefed up; Chief Minister inspects preparations for the grand reception of HM at Hapta Kangjeibung

State government and the workers of the BJP Manipur are all set for grand reception of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is visiting the state tomorrow. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is on a two day tour in NE state of Assam and Manipur. He landed today at Guwahati and will arrive here in Imphal tomorrow.

For the second time Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh today inspected the site for organizing a grand reception function of the Union Home Minister’s visit at Hapta Kangjeibung in Imphal East.

“I have review the security measures taken up and have prepared for grand reception of the Union Home Minister”, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said while talking to media persons at Hapta Kangjeibung today morning.

The state government is however working out to limit the number of people attending the reception function at Hapta Kangjeibung in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know that many people are expecting to attend the reception function, however, we are left with no option but to limit the number of attendee at the function as maintenance of social distancing is a must”, the Chief Minister said. He however said that the workers of the BJP and supporters of the government will be allow to give a warm reception to the Union Home Minister all the way from Imphal Airport to the venue of the main function.

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh further said that during the main reception function to be held at Hapta Kangjeibung , the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay foundations for Churchandpur Medical College, State Government Guest House at Imphal, State Police Head Quarter, Integrated Common and Control City, IIIT Muwonkhong  and the Manipur Bhawan to be constructed at Dwarka , New Delhi.

The Union Home Minister will also inaugurate the Thoubal Multipurpose Project which was constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 1998.99 Crore and the newly constructed roads from Bishnupur to Tupul and Thoubal to Kasom Khulen road with an estimated cost of Rs. 475.65 crores.

Later after the main function, the Union Home Minister is expected to meet the representatives of the Civil Society Organisation of the state and various leaders and workers of the BJP at Classic Grande.
