Manipur Polo International 2014 begins

8th Manipur Polo International 2014 begins today at Mapal Kangjeibung. The tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association in connection with the Sangai festival Manipur was inaugurated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh. Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee, Dr. Chaltolien Amo, MP Dr. Thokchom Meinya, Parliamentary Secretary M. Prithiviraj, MLA N Biren and MLA O Landhoni attended the inaugural function as the guests of honour.
General Manager SBI network 11 Guwahati donated a sum of rupees 12 lakhs for preservation of pony of the state.
Nine teams from across the globe are taking part in the historic polo tournament. The team are France, Poland, England, USA, Mangolia, Thailand, South Africa  , India (A),  India (B) Manipur.
