Imphal Dec 29: In order to check the instances of road mishaps during the ensuing New Year’s Day Celebration, 2015, Imphal West District Police is going to take up special drive to implement certain safely norms with effect from 30th of December, 2014.
A press release signed by Dr. Ak. Jhalajit Singh, Superintendent of Police, Imphal West District advised all the police personnel of the district to give emphasis on checking driving motor vehicles without driving license, driving motor vehicle by the minor, owner of vehicles allowing a minor or a person without driving license drive his/her vehicle, driving without registration certificate of the vehicle, driving vehicle without insurance certificate, triple riding on a two wheeler vehicle, vehicles plying without displaying registration number, driving by drunken person, driving at excessive speed, over-loading of Car/M-Gypsy/Maruti Van/Bus etc.
The press release also appealed to the general public to co-operate with Police in curbing road mishaps and to save precious lives.
