Manipur Police recovers weapons and ammunition from Sangaithel area

Manipur police has conducted an operation at Sangaithel area recovering numerous weapons and war like stores. In response to intelligence received from the 2CT/IS Det, ECIB regarding the presence of unidentified individuals in the general fringes area of Imphal West under the jurisdiction of the Patsoi Police Station, a coordinated operation was swiftly initiated. Led by Inspector Kh. Sunilkumar Singh and comprising teams from Patsoi Police Station, Mike-70 Mobile team, Sangaithel OP, Mike-48 of CDO-IW, and a column of 5/9-GR, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Ksh. Shivakanta Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Imphal West.
The operation, which commenced at 3:30 PM, entailed a thorough cordon and search of the area surrounding Sangaithel under the Patsoi Police Station. Despite intensive efforts, no suspects were apprehended during the operation. However, significant war-like stores, weapons, and ammunition were recovered by the combined teams by 5:30 PM.
The recovered items included a CMG with an empty magazine, a 9mm Pistol with an empty magazine, fifty-five live rounds of 7.62 ammunition, four Number 36 HE grenades, one 51 mm Mortar illumination shell, one 2-inch Mortar Shell, five live .32 ammunitions, and two Baofeng Radio Sets. The meticulous search operation concluded at 6:30 PM, following which the seized articles were formally handed over for further necessary legal action.
