Manipur Maoist says – no turning back to their stand

Maoist Communist Party Manipur (MCPM), an armed rebel group operating in the region said that there is no change to their demand for preservation and construction of the Mongba Hanba and Khurai Ahongpung Khubam and said that the outfit has intensified its decision to call the statewide general strike from the midnight of December 5 till the midnight of December 7 instead of  December 6.

In a statement, the outfit said that If the BJP and the RSS have their agenda on the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya where Bhabri Masajid had been demolished than the state government should also have stand to construct Khurai Ahong Pung Khubam and Mongba Hanba.   

The statement said that they have received positive response from the people of the state and many CSOs and like minded armed rebel group are also extending their support to the 48 hours bandh  called. It reminded how the career of a politician ended after challenging an armed rebel group cautioning the present regime.

The Maoist statement  said that they cannot remain a mute spectator when the ruling government silence to the encroachment of the of the Manipur territory by Burma, when nothing has been spell out to the issue of the Dzuko Valley. It also added that they cannot remain silence when people are harassed arrest for throwing eggs to portrait of Chief Minister as a mark of protest , when student’s hostel are raided in the middle of the night inside the Manipur University Complex and when people are detained for posting criticism to the government.

the Maoist further reminded that during the Okram Ibobi led Congress regime , the Maoist even though have less strength , it had done everything that could and defy the regime. It further added that the present government might think that they are well advance in the tactics of the Maoist but their misconception will only bring  desaster as the Maoist understand more than the present regime.
