Manipur Maoist lambasts Labour Minister

Imphal, Sept 24: Armed rebel group lambasted the Labour Minister alleging of foul play in the implementation of welfare programme for lanbourersin the state. In a press statement the outfit said that when it has been working on to unify the struggle for protection of the indigenous people of the state, the labour department has been converted as a den for the thieves. It said bureaucrats and Minister of the labour department has been utilizing the fund sanction for the welfare of the working class people for their own benefit. The outfit said that it had demanded to take up correctional measures so as to provide benefit to the real working class people of the state however, instead of listening the bureaucrats and the Ministers are using the money meant for the poor for their own benefit. It also pointed out some foul play in providing benefit to the labourers. The rebel group said it will call general strike on October 2 from 6 am to 6 pm to express the grievances of the labourer community if the government fail to take note of what is going on in the labour department.
