Manipur High Court Chief Justice visits at Jiribam; Assured to upgrade Jiribam Court into the status of Addl. District Judge

The Chief Justice of Manipur High Court visited the Jiribam District today to take the stock of judicial infrastructure at Jiribam District.
On his visit to the district, he has inspected the infrastructure of the court of Judicial Magistrate First class, Jiribam Sub- Jail and Transit hostel. He was accompanied by Commissioner of Law, Government of Manipur; High Court Manager; Civil Judicial Magistrate, Jiribam along with District Administration officials.
Addressing the media persons of Jiribam, P.V. Sanjoykumar, Chief Justice of Manipur High Court said the infrastructure of Jiribam court is well developed as compared with the certain parts of Manipur. There are certain shortcomings that need to be addressed very soon.
He added that the judicial strength will be increased at the Jiribam District. He also assured that an Additional District Judge will be stationed at Jiribam very soon.
Regarding the sub-jail of Jiribam, he stated that the jail is a necessity here, as the sub-jail here seems to be abandoned and there has been no jailing facility at all and that is the major hindrances to the legal system and that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
