Manipur Governor inaugurates 15-Day workshop on rites-de-passage of Sanamahism

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey today inaugurated a 15-Day workshop on Manipur’s indigenous religion “Sanamahism” jointly organized by the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSBT) Manipur University of Culture (MUC) at Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple, Hayingkhongband, 1st MR Battalion.
Speaking on the occasion Governor Anusuiya Uikey stressed the importance of organizing such a workshop to understand the traditional culture followed in the Sanamahi religion which is an important deity of the state. Understanding the Lainingthou Sanamahi will make the people understand the rituals, culture, and traditions of the people.
Demonstration and performance classes of ritual activities and teaching of Sanamahism will be detailed during the workshop to understand more about the Sanamahi religion. Besides Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey, Vidyapati Senjam vice President of LSTB, and Prof. Paonam Gunindro Vice Chancellor of Manipur University of Culture share the dais on the inaugural function of the 15-day workshop.
