Manipur gets new UN Resource Centre Coordinator

Veerjeet Singh Laisangbam has been nominated as the State Coordinator (Honourary) of the Resource Centre for United Nations-North East Region (RCUN-NER) for Manipur. The appointment, effective from August 22, 2025, was confirmed by Dr. Aswini Sarma, Executive Director of the RCUN-NER, Guwahati.
According to the official communication, Veerjeet Singh Laisangbam will be responsible for promoting UN and UNESCO activities and programmes of the RCUN-NER in Manipur. He will also be required to submit bi-annual reports of activities from the state to the RCUN-NER headquarters in Guwahati.
The appointment comes with the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the organisation’s rules and regulations, with provisions for termination in case of violations.
