Manipur Doctors’ body urges incentive for COVID warrior in par with the center’s incentives

The All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association has demanded incentives of COVID warriors in par with the central government patern.
In a press meet held today at the conference of Directorate of health services, Govt. Of Manipur, Dr. P. Shyamsunder Singh , president of the Association said that the doctors in the state who are engaging in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic are being discriminated .
“In case of casualties (death) of MHS officers and Health Workers on duty liberal incentives to be given to them as in the central pattern in this regard @ Rs. 50 lakhs per person. The same is applied in Goa and Orissa”, he said.
The association has also demanded to appoint the project director of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) from among the qualified doctor’s community while urging the government to ensure the non-practicing allowance.
“The NPA is to be treated as a part of pay and additional facilities as per CCS (RP) Rules 2016” the Association president said.
The association further urged the government to convene a meeting of the drafting committee (already functional) of the MHS Rules, 2020 to discuss and consider the association proposal for a new draft MHS Rules, 2020 along with those of the stakeholders so that the new rules will be acceptable to all the stakeholders and to notify the final MHS Rules , 2020 on or before December 21 , 2020.
