IT NewsImphal, Oct 3: A person succumbed to his injury after he sustainedmultiple wounds in dagger attack by a father and son identified asTongbram Abothe @ Nonglenkhomba (22) and is father TongbramChingsanglakpa of Uripok Bachaspati Leikai at around 9.30 pm yesterdayat Uripok Yambem leikai. The deceased has been identified as AngomBirendrajit @ Ibomcha (33) son of A. Bashantajit @ Bode of UripokYambem Leikai. He was attacked by both the father and son usingdaggers while he was making a phone call near his residence at UripokYambem Leikai. Both the son and father were rounded up by the localsof the area while the injured victim was rushed to RIMS hospital wherehe succumbed to his injury. The irate locals thrashed both themurderers but were rescued by a team of IRB personnel who happened topass along the route. They are presently undergoing treatment at RIMShospital security ward.The locals than storm to the residence of the murderers at UripokBachaspati Leikai and vandalise the property at around 11 pmyesterday.According to reports, the deceased Angom Birendrajit @ Ibomchahappened to find the murderer Abothe and some of his friends drinkingcountry made brew at the roadside at around 8 pm yesterday. As oneamong them happened to be a cousin brother of Ibomcha he scolded themsaying that it was not good manner to drink at the road side.Later, at around 9.30 pm yesterday, while Ibomcha was making a calledthrough his cell phone near his house at Uripok Yambem Leikai,Tongbram Abothe along with his father Tongbram Chinsanglakpa came withdaggers and started scuffling with him. The father and son reportedlystabbed him using the daggers. Locals Uripok Yambem Leikai intervenedthem and immediately rushed Ibomcha to RIMS. While Ibomcha wasevacuated to RIMS, the locals nabbed the two and started assaultingthem. However, a team of IRB personnel who happened to pass along theroute rescued them and admitted to RIMS.At around 8 am today morning local club members and meira paibis ofUripok Yambem Leikai, Khumanthem Leikai, Bachaspati Leikai and AchomLeikai today convened a meeting at Uripok Yambem Leikai communityHall. The meeting deliberated to yesterday’s incident and resolved toprohibit all sorts of intoxicants in and around the four localities; ayouth committee was formed in the regard. The meeting also formed aJAC to demand punishment of the two murderers. On the other hand, clubmembers and meira paibis of the four localities also resolved to driveout both the son and father from the localities.The gathering in the meeting once more went to the residence of themurderer and vandalise the remaining. A smoke bomb was reportedlyrecovered from inside the house.Meanwhile, the dead body of Angom Birendrajit @ Ibomcha was depositedat RIMS morgue and the family member had accepted to receive it afterconducting post mortem.
