Imphal, May 30: In a bizarre incident, a 50-year-old businessman has reportedly opened fired at ILPS protestors while he was attempted to stop by a group of local ILPS protestors at Kongba Thangjam Leikai Heinoubon area today afternoon at around 2 pm.
The person, who is claimed to be a contractor, has been identified as Longjam Amar, s/o Late L Gokulchand of Kongba Keithel.
Fuming with the conduct of Amar, a large number of protestors and locals have stormed at his residence. After he (Amar) refuses to tender apology and surrender before local Meira Paibis, the enraged mob attacked his house.
A team of Irilbung Police station rushed at the site; however they have been facing a tough time to contain the enraged mob.
