Man shot on both legs by unknown miscreants in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 20:

A man was shot in both legs and left by unknown miscreants on the road in Nanglou Tara Lou, Thoubal District, at around 10 pm yesterday. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Lilong Police Station.
Police have identified the victim as Md. Abdul Salam, 37, son of Haji Abdul Kadir from Hatta Golapati Maning Leikai, Lane No. 7, Imphal East District. According to reports, Abdul Salam sustained two bullet wounds to his thighs and was immediately rushed to Noor Hospital in Lilong for treatment.
Mr. Abdul Salam has been unable to identify the attackers. He informed officials that a few days prior, he had been taken and threatened by some unknown men with weapons in connection to a drug-related matter.
The police are investigating the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the miscreants involved. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
