M.G.Evergreen Hr,Sec.School celebrates silver jubilee

The M.G. Evergreen Higher Secondary School, Tuishimi celebrated Silver Jubilee, celebrating the 25 years of its foundation at its school premises in Chandel District on Tuesday with D. Korungthang as the Chief Guest.
Lhukhosei Zou, Chairman, ADC Chandel and Chandel Addl. District Magistrate Luckyson Kashung also graced as the Functional President and Guest of Honour beside Members of Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chandel.
The celebration was marked with Unveiling of Jubilee Monolith by the Chief Guest and flag hoisting by Functional President. And as a part of the celebration, Spectacular folk dances and choreography were also performed by the parents and students of the School during the program.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, D. Korungthang said that Education is the backbone of a nation. A nation or a society without education is like blind and handicap man. As such, the government provided free and compulsory education to all its citizens so that our country and our nation can be prosper and developed, he added.
He also maintained that the present problem which we are facing in our society is the problems of drugs abuse and alcholism. Drugs and alcohol ruined many young students who are the future pillar of our nation. There are some selfish minded people who thought of getting rich and indulged in drugs without considering the consequences which the society will face. So, we must keep strict vigil upon such people and keep distance ourselves from them as well as from the menace of drugs, added the MLA.
