Imphal, July 23:
In a resounding endorsement of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2024, M. Asnikumar has commended the budget’s transformative potential to elevate India to unprecedented pinnacles of growth, welfare, and inclusiveness. The budget delineates a comprehensive strategy centered on the middle class, employment generation, skill development, empowerment, and the fostering of entrepreneurship, all in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat.’
Under the stewardship of the BJP-led government, a holistic and inclusive developmental trajectory is being charted, with a particular emphasis on farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged. The government aims to achieve far-reaching social justice through a saturation approach, ensuring that all eligible individuals are encompassed by various educational and health programs, thereby empowering them by augmenting their capabilities.
As outlined in the interim budget, the Union Budget 2024 envisions sustained efforts across nine key priorities: productivity and resilience in agriculture, employment, inclusive human resource development and social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation and research and development, and next-generation reforms.
Expressing his delight, Asnikumar highlighted the budget’s substantial allocation of 2 lakh crore rupees for job creation over the next five years, along with a new employment skilling scheme aimed at equipping 20 lakh youth with necessary skills within the same timeframe. Recognizing the youth as the cornerstone of India’s future, this allocation is seen as a critical step towards securing a prosperous future. To further stimulate employment, the budget proposes incentives for companies, particularly in manufacturing, alongside programs to enhance skills and provide subsidized loans for higher education. Financial support for loans up to 10 lakh rupees will be made available for higher education in domestic institutions. Additionally, an internship scheme for 1 crore youth in 500 top companies, with an allowance of 5,000 rupees per month and a one-time assistance of 6,000 rupees, has been introduced to bolster practical training and employment opportunities.
