Ukhrul, Dec 17:
In a remarkable demonstration of faith and unity, the Baptist Youth Fellowship of the Northern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association set a historic record for the longest human chain reciting a Bible verse in both English and the Tangkhul Naga language. This extraordinary feat, recognized by both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records, took place during the 3rd Triennial Gathering under the leadership of Dr. Sirangam Shimrang.
The event was held on December 12, 2024, at Peh village, Ukhrul District, Manipur, and was hosted by the Baptist Youth Society of Peh Dharsin Baptist Church. Participants recited John 3:16, which proclaims, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The recitation, performed by a multitude of believers, conveyed a powerful message of love, faith, and salvation to the world. The initiative not only highlighted the strength of community and shared beliefs but also underscored the richness of the Tangkhul Naga language and its role in celebrating scripture.
This record-setting event reflects the profound spiritual commitment of the participants, as well as their desire to spread the universal message of God’s love and hope. By merging tradition with modern record-keeping, the Baptist Youth Fellowship has left an indelible mark on the global Christian community.
