Imphal, July 30: Locals of Tentha Mayai leikai in Thoubal district today staged protest in front of Kangla Youth Club of the locality demanding arrest and punishment of 9-Tentha Zilla Parishad Member Laishram Inaocha for misused of public fund.
The local alleged that the ZP member had misappropriated fund which are meant for the development of the people.
Speaking to media persons, spokesperson of Kangla Youth Club , M. Rajen said that in the name of developing a local pond which has been existed since the last 40 year, ZP member L Inaocha had withdrawn a sum of Rs. 14,59,070 /- by including in the work programme during April 3, 2016 to August 18, 2016.
He said, the ZP member withdraw an amount for digging of the existing pond in 2016 and withdraw for renovation of the pond in December 2014.
“How could it be possible?” asked M. Rajen, the spokesperson of the local club.
The protest demanded immediate arrest of L. Inaocha and recover the amount beside punishing him as per law of the land.
