Imphal, July 25:

Naorem Ongbi Thoithoibi Leima, Secretary of Takyel Khongban Meira Paibi, a branch of the Porei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, has raised serious allegations against the Assam Rifles, accusing them of being partial to Kuki militants from Myanmar.
In a recent statement, Thoithoibi Leima asserted, “Kuki militants from Myanmar are being helped by the Assam Rifles. Assam Rifles are partial to the Kukis and they should be replaced.”
She highlighted the ongoing insecurity and random attacks by the militants, expressing concern over the lack of timely action. “We do not know when they will attack. They are attacking randomly whenever they want. The village volunteers who are defending are being detained under the NSA,” she said.
Thoithoibi Leima criticized the state government’s claims of restored peace in Manipur, stating, “But Kukis are still attacking. People are still living in relief camps. People in the relief camps are living like animals. Some have even committed suicide. Moreover, many cannot grow their paddy.”
She also accused Chief Minister N. Biren Singh of ignoring the people’s plight. “If we point this out, CM Biren gets angry. We have resolved to fight this out; they cannot do such things to us. Why is the CM silent? He is holding on to his chair,” she added.
