Local alleges MLA Meghachandra of assaulting a boy at Thoubal Kiyam

Imphal, Feb 4: Locals of Thoubal Kiyam in Wangkhem Assembly constituency today alleged MLA K. Meghachandra of physically assaulting a minor boy over incident happened on Feb. 2 at Kiyam.
A JAC was formed against the alleged assault and demanded apology from the MLA within five days and threaten to boycott if the MLA failed to do so.
Speaking to media persons, convenor of the JAC Maisnam Priyokumar said that on February 2 a clashed happened at Kiyam Siphai between supporting parties of the MLA Meghachandra and another aspirant candidate at Thoubal Kiyam. On the day MLA Meghachandra came but without entering the clashed site pulled up one Naorem Nanao who was buying snacks at a shop near Thoubal Tangjeng. The MLA keep on blaming the boy for the clashed and started assaulting him physically. Priyokumar further said that the boy was hospitalized at JNIMS and has been discharged yesterday only. The JAC said that if the MLA did not clarify over the matter the JAC will boycott him.
