Imphal, July 5:

The Like Minded Group (LMG), a social organization in Manipur, has extended financial assistance to Sarangthem Amarjit Singh, a 31-year-old resident of Salungpham Mamang Leikai in the Heirok constituency. Amarjit was severely injured in a tragic accident on June 16 and is currently in the ICU at a hospital in Imphal.
Amarjit’s family, facing severe financial constraints, appealed for help on social media. In response, the LMG, through its General Fund, donated Rs. 10,000 to support his medical expenses. LMG Vice President Chongtham Jibanlata, along with other key members including Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, Publicity Secretary Rakesh Naorem, Finance Secretary Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam, Joint Secretary Dr. Maibam Eteen, and Assistant Secretaries Surendra Ningombam and Rameshwar Elangbam, came together to provide this assistance.
During the donation, Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam expressed concern over the increasing use of social media for emergency appeals, highlighting the urgent need for immediate action. He emphasized that it’s essential for communities to remain vigilant and proactive in such crises, using phones and other means to offer timely help.
Ojit further stated, “Amarjit Singh’s family relies solely on his earnings. He has two young children and a family of four to support. Due to the severity of his injuries, Amarjit requires a major operation, which requires significant financial support. The LMG hopes that this initial contribution will alleviate some of the family’s burdens.”
