As part of the “One Multiple One Project” under Lions International’s global initiative for community service and environment conservation, members of Lions Club of Imphal Valley and Imphal Valley NextGen organized a dual activity comprising Lions Branding and a tree plantation drive in Imphal today.
Around 10:30 AM, in the rain-soaked Imphal Bazar area, the clubs distributed Lions-branded umbrellas to passersby and daily commuters. A total of 20 umbrellas were handed out, aiming to raise awareness of the humanitarian work being undertaken by Lions International, the world’s largest non-governmental service organization.
Earlier in the morning, club members carried out a tree plantation drive at the premises of the historic Gandhi Memorial Hall complex and Indira Park, Imphal. Approximately 30 saplings were planted under Lions International’s flagship initiative “Project on Environment,” with the objective of promoting a greener and cleaner environment in the heart of the city.
The programme was graced by the presence of club leaders including Lion Jugpreet Singh (President), Lion T. Indrajit (Secretary), Lion Gyanchand Jain (Treasurer), Lion Shanti Bagda, and Lion Jaipal Singh along with Vice Presidents and other club members. Also present were district-level dignitaries PMJF Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh, GMT District Coordinator and MJF Lion Ch. Ratankishwor, Deputy Cabinet Treasurer of Lions International District 322D.
