Lions Club of Imphal Valley observes 11th Charter Nite

The Lions Club of Imphal Valley observed its 11th Charter Nite in a joint celebration with Lions Club of Imphal Valley NextGen, which marked its 2nd Charter Nite, at Hotel Nirmala, Thangal Bazar, on Sunday. The event was attended by Lion Lalit Kumar Kothari, PMJF District Governor of Lions International District 322D, as the chief guest.
During the programme, the District Governor lauded the humanitarian services rendered by the two clubs, particularly their efforts in providing impactful relief during recent flash floods that affected hundreds of people in the state. He urged club members to be prepared to form a Rapid Disaster Response team, noting that natural calamities have become a frequent challenge in the region.
Earlier in the day, the District Governor visited the “Imphal West Police Booth” at Kasturi bridge, a project sponsored by DFF, along with club leaders. He expressed satisfaction at the maintenance of the booth, which also serves as a shelter for police personnel during harsh weather conditions. As a mark of appreciation, he distributed sweets and eatables to police personnel on duty.
The celebration was attended by Lion Kesho Singh, Immediate Past District Governor, PDGs including Lion Prof W Gopimohan, Lion M Gojenra Singh, Lion H Manikumar Singh, and several district leaders alongside members of different Lions Clubs from across Manipur. The event was presided over by Lion Jugreet Singh, President of Lions Club of Imphal Valley, and Lion Saket Bagda, President of Lions Club of Imphal Valley NextGen.
During the function, all charter members of the two clubs were honoured with gifts presented by visiting dignitaries.
