Lions Club of Imphal Greater distributes essential commodities to the visually impaired students

Amid the surge of second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Lions Club of Imphal Greater today distributed essential commodities to the 25 visually impaired students/inmates of Government Ideal Blind School, Takyel, Imphal. The program was organised under the Global theme of Lions Clubs International “Feed the Hunger Project”.

Altogether 25 bags of essential commodities each containing 20 kgs of Rice, 1 litre of edible oil, 1 kg of dal, 1 kg of potato, 1 kg of onion, 1 kg of sugar, 30 pcs of egg, soap, toothpaste, tea leaves, detergent powder and snacks were distributed to the 25 visually impaired students/inmates. The distribution program led by Lion Ashok Konjengbam, President of the Lions Club was organised in association with Sakura- an online marketing company of Manipur which contributed snacks and breakfast items. The distribution of the commodities was also reached out to the doorsteps of the students who were confined to their homes due to Covid pandemic with the help of SAVI (Sports Association of Visually Impaired). The event was also attended by key Lion members of the Club.
