Lion club donates essential items to blind school

As a good gesture, the Lion Club of Thoubal District donated essential commodities to the Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi in Chandel District on Saturday.A team of Lion, Lioness and Leo who are the members of the Lion Club came to the school premises handed over 6 bags of rice, 20 kgs of Potatoes, 7 kgs of Dal, 10 packs of Salt, 4 packs of tea leaf and Milk, 1 kg each of Chilli and fermented fish, 5 kgs each of Sugar, Onion and edible oil besides some clothes to the students and staffs of Mission Blind School.While thanking the Lion Club for their generosity and humanitarian act, Pareng Kom, Head of the Mission blind school said that, the students and staffs were very indebted to the Lion Club for extending assistance in various ways since the last many years. And as a result of the assistance extended by the club, 2 students of the school were able to see after conducting surgery, he added.He further said that the students and staffs of the school have nothing to repay back in return to the club for their generosity. But may the Almighty bless all the club members in their future endeavor, said Kom.Dr. Renubala, Cabinet Secretary; O. Jugeshwar, Vice-President; A. Jiten Sharma, Secretary, Dr. Manglem and Dr. Ibomcha beside other Lion, Lioness and Leo of the Lion Club were present during handing over the commodities.
