World’s youngest Indian climate activists Licypriya Kangujam, who is also the founder of The Child Movement, delivered an inspiring speech today on the second day of the three-day Swachhta Student Camp at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal. Her address focused on the urgent need for collective action to combat climate change and emphasized the vital role of young people in shaping a sustainable future.
Licypriya urged the attendees to take immediate and proactive steps toward environmental conservation, stating that the time to act is now. She highlighted the devastating effects of climate change and environmental degradation, stressing the importance of adopting sustainable practices and policies to protect the planet for future generations.
The day’s events also included expert sessions on waste management, segregation, and climate change, which highlighted the significance of responsible environmental behavior.
A panel discussion titled “How Young Minds Can Contribute to a Healthier Society” provided a platform to showcase the innovative ideas and enthusiasm of the youth in addressing critical environmental challenges.
The camp also promoted plastic-free practices as a means to tackle plastic pollution. Interactive activities, such as a poster and slogan writing competition on the theme “Plastic-Free Society,” allowed participants to express their creativity and commitment to a greener future.
