Imphal, Nov 9:

Proscribed group People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) is observing Martyrs Memorial Day (Athoubasingi Ningsing Numit) on November 12. The armed rebel group observed the memorial day since to commemorate the incident of Novemebr 12, 1978 at which combined troops of CRPF and Manipur police attacked a transit camp at Leimarok in Kameng village and killed two cadres of PREPAK – Dhiren and Kabikanta and a member of PLA identified as Gambhir and also to pay respect to PREPAK leader Ningthemcha Tulachandra @ Loyataba, whom the security force killed on Novemebr 12 of 1985.
A statement by Leibaak Ngaakpa Luwang, Secretary in charge, publicity and Propaganda of PREPAK appealed people to light candle at every household to respect to the departed revolutionary fighters.
The statement said that in a nation where there is a revolutionary movement it is natural that those colonial rulers try to control the people of the region and also suppress the right to life of the people. Likewise, the in Kangleipak , the security force use carrot and stick measures to control the people. The statement said that first they harassed and assaulted the people and if it is not effective they tame the people providing them sweets. The PREPAK statement said that the distributions of essential items and construction works taken up under the Military Civic Action Programme is nothing but to tame and control the Mothers of this land, students and other local clubs and organizations etc. It further said that peace and development that has been going on as a process of globalization has been hindered and branded the revolutionary groups as terrorist by misleading the people.
The PREPAK statement also stated that the economy of Globalization has been giving more priority to privatization and in the process some people benefitted and many others lost their privilege of earning. Lands of poor people comes under the control of the Multinational Corporations and the resources of the indigenous people has been sucked by the Multinational Companies through the Free Trade Agreement .
While people have been exploited by such agreement people are again injected hate feeling among one another while fighting to get benefit from the Central Schemes. The Colonial rulers also made the people think that they cannot live without the assistance of the colonial rulers by making them complete economic dependency. A nation where there is a revolutionary movement should not wait for blessing of the colonial ruler, instead of that the people should try to improve the economy of the people.
The spinal cord of the revolutionary movement being underway is the Political ideology and National Economy. The class contradiction between the oppressed people and the oppressors and the failed Political economy system and their failed policy programme has been made understand to the people, the statement state.
It further added that what the oppressed people want is a radical change to the farmers and labour class people of the region. People now begin to realized that the revolutionary movement will bring equality among the people.
The PREPAK statement also lambasted the ruler for not condering the issue of Covid -19 with seriousness. It said that the way that the ruling regime act is nothing but to help spreading the dreaded covid -19 pandemic among the people.
