Legal service camp held at Moirangkhom Maring village

Imphal, April 24: District Legal Service Authority, Chandel has conducted a one-day legal awareness programme at Moirangkhom Maring Village Community Hall near Kakching Khunou yesterday. The programme was organised in association with Moirangkhom Village Chief, Okho (Okeshwor-Homeshwor) Trust, Langmeidong and Elangbam Tondonbi Singh Memorial Charitable Trust, Hiyanglam Awang Leikai under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Service Authority.
Chief of Moirangkhom village P Merun Maring, executive direction of Okho Trust Thounaojam Ngouba Sing and pastor of Moirang Baptist Church Th Akham were the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively at the function.
Experts who addressed the camp included legal aid counsel of Imphal West district, K Dhane who spoke on the topic ‘Food Security Act and Mental Health,’ and general secretary of All Manipur Lady’s Advocate Association L Ashapurna Devi who spoke on the topic ‘Crime against Women and Domestic Violence’. Resource persons advocate B Prem Sharma and executive director of Okho Trust Thounaojam Ngouba gave their discourses on the topics ‘RTI and Consumers Act’ and ‘Right to Education’ respectively.
A discussion on the days’ proceedings and related issues for all the participants was taken up after the lecture session with advocate Dhane Singh as the moderator.
