Imphal, Sept 11: Women Action for Development organized a one day discussion cum sharing program on Human Right Violation with special reference to “Law’s Related with crime against women and customary proactive in Manipur” at Manipur press club today.
Advocate Sevananda Sharma of Human Justice Foundation, who attended as resource person shares his thought on the topic of Laws related to women and customary law practicing in the state of Manipur. Dr. Chinglen Maisnam Department of economic spoke on the topic “Crime Against women and armed force special power act, 1958.
Maisnam Ronita OC of women police station, Lamphel, who also attended as resource person shared on the topic “challenges of women police in dialing with crime against women”.
Wangkemcha Samjai, president of AMWJU spoke on the topic “Role of media in reporting crime against women in the contest of Manipur”.
M Moikham, secretary of all tribal women organization spoke on the topic “Crime against women and customary law in the context of tribal community and its impact”.
Helam Haokip, Secretary IRMA shared his views on the topic “dealing with crime against women as NGOs in the context of tribal community”.
