Lecture on drug abuse and illicit trafficking held at Moreh

Humanism Foundation in Association with Moreh Battalion, Assam Rifles has jointly organised a lecture on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in connection with the International Day Against drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at the multi-skilled training centre of Humanism Foundation here today.
Addressing at the gathering, Captain D. Augustus, Regimental Medical Officer of Moreh Batallion Assam Rifles delivered the lecture extensively on drug abuse and its impact on society, social relationships and side-effects of drug abusers.
The resource person also highlighted the prevailing scenario of illicit trafficking specially in the border towns of India like Moreh.
M Alfred Singh, Project Manager of Dedicated People’s Union, who attended the lecture as resource person also talked on the ground situations and prevalence of injected drug users in Moreh town and other adjoining areas of Myanmar.
A total number of 70 trainees, who are currently undergoing skill development courses at the Multi-skilled Development Training Center of Humanism Foundation along with staffs of Humanism Foundation and officials of Moreh Battalion, Assam Rifles, attended at the lecture.
