Landslide at NH 37: Vehicles with around 500 passengers stranded

As many as 500 Imphal bound passengers and drivers are reported stranded along with the vehicles due to landslide occurred at various places along Imphal-Jiri (NH-37) road.
Talking to Jiribam News Network, International Awardee Actor, Kachangthai Gonmei, who is among those people facing the trouble of reaching home due to the landslide cause by the incessant rains, said that they have been stranded in the village for 3 days at Sibilong Village near Barak River in NH -37.
“We are having a lot of problems and inconveniences, as we are facing a shortage of food and medicines as some of the passengers have started facing health-related issued”, Kachangthai Gonmei told JNN.
He further added that the passengers along with the drivers have requested the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) ,authority to clear the pile up earth and rocks due to the landslide however, those authority of the NHIDCL turn deaf ear.
Kachangthai Gonmei, however, thanks to the officials of the Bharatitya Company for the effort in trying to clear the road using machineries.
Anotherpassenger Neilimgai Gonmei, who is also stranded due to the road block by landslides at many places, particularly in Keiphundai areas said that it has been three days that the near about 500 passengers have been on the road for 3 days. Gonmei drew the attention of the government authority to help them as they are facing problems with food including health issues to many. The passengers however thank the Bharatiya Company officials for their gestures towards the stranded passengers.
