A source with the Imphal Times said that the land measuring 10,781.63 Sq. Metres, at Bengaluru, Karnataka (near Banglore University) was allotted by Bangalore Development Authority on lease for a period of 30 years to the Government of Manipur for construction of Manipur Bhawan, after onetime payment of Rs. 4,59,37,196/-. The source added that earlier the government of Manipur had utilized Dr. V. Ramakantha, IFS, as Manipur Liaison Officer but after his retirement on 31/07/2013 state government has not posted any liaison officer to look into the matter. Even though state government has a provision for engagement of liaison officer on contract basis , no officer has been engaged to look into the matter till today.
