Lamyanba Irabot remembered on 121st Birth Anniversary; State Govt. to observe at state level from next year : Sushindro

Imphal, Sept 30: Fitting tribute was paid to today to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot on the 121st Birth Anniversary. Various organisation across the state and outside the state observed the day.
At an observance function organised jointly by Manipur Peoples’ Proletariat Democratic Union, Socialist student Union Manipur and Struggle Committee Manipur at Keishampat Lairembi community Hall,  Parliamentary Secy. Leishangthem Sushindro calls on people of the state to fulfill the dream of the pioneer leader.
He said people of the state now started paying homage to the departed leader in recognition to his sacrifices for the people of the state. While appreciating the organisers Suchindro said that from next year on wards the state government will observe the birth anniversary of the leader at state level.
The district administration has provided a land for erecting a statue of Lamyanba Irabot.
Earlier, floral tribute was paid to the portrait of the Lamyamba.
On the occasion 6 journalist including an editor were honoured in recognition to their service. Hemanta Ningombam of Huieyen Lanpao was honoured as peoples’ choice editor. Other journalist honoured are Gyanand Naorem, special correspondent of Huieyen Lanpao as Peoples’ Choice Special Category Award, Chaoba(Paojel Chaoba) of Imphal Free Press was honoured as Investigative Journalist Award, Urikhinbam Indrajit of ISTV was honoured as Reporter Award, Heikrujam Sadananda of Poknapham was honoured as Sports Journalist Award and Sanaleipak was honoured as Peoples’ Choice News Paper Award.

The day is also organised at Sagolband Sadokpham leikai by North East forum for International solidarity. Social activist Brinda Thoanaojam ,Khumukcham Chingkhei,President IPSA and Rinku Khumukcham graced as presidium members.
