The proscribed group Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) observed its 30th foundation day on April 25, 2024. A statement from the armed group mentioned that the foundation day functions were held at the General Headquarters, Central Headquarters, 1st Battalion, 2nd Battalion, and various units and sections.
The main function of the armed group took place at its General Headquarters, with important leaders of the outfit paying a national salute to the party flag, followed by paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed for the motherland. The main highlight of the function was a discussion on the message from the KYKL Chairman to the people. The Chairman’s views on the economy, with reference to the philosophy of Marxism, were discussed. The Chairman stated that politics is the physical manifestation of the nation’s economy. Additionally, he mentioned culture, morality, religion, philosophy, arts, literature, etc.
The Chairman also elaborated on the impact in Kangleipak after its annexation by India, highlighting how Kangleipak became economically dependent. He addressed the division between the Hill and Plain people and the resulting conflicts between various ethnic communities. The Chairman expressed that both the people of the Hills and Plains have started dancing to the mainland’s tune if provided with money.
