Imphal, Feb 16:
The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) commemorated ‘Lanmee gi Numit’ (Army Day) to mark the 20th Raising Day of its armed wing, Meeyamgi Yawol Lanmee (MYL), today. The Army Day observance took place at various locations including the Central Headquarters (CHQs), Battalion Headquarters (BHQs), Central Unit Command, and other units within and outside of Kangleipak.
According to a statement released by A. Yaiphaba, Secretary of Publicity and Research at KYKL, the primary event was held at the Central Headquarters (CHQ), where the chairman hoisted the party flag and paid tribute to the fallen cadres of the armed rebel group.
Addressing the gathering, the chairman highlighted the escalating turmoil in Kangleipak. He attributed the current situation to the annexation of Manipur and criticized the followers of colonial masters for fostering dependence on India.
“The manoeuvres orchestrated from Delhi are detrimental to Kangleipak. Those in Delhi govern the state as per their whims, disregarding the aspirations of the people of Kangleipak,” remarked the chairman.
In his speech, the Chief of the Army Staff of KYKL urged the troops to uphold discipline, emphasizing that the freedom struggle transcends individual interests.
