Imphal, May 29: A combined team of 39 Assam Rifles and Thoubal district police commandos arrested the Thoubal district area commander of KYKL from his own village. Assam Rifles identified the individual as self styled sergeant major Recky Thoudam, 32, from Thounaojam in Wabagai. He confirmed to have crossed over to India from Tanam Camp in Myanmar on May 6, 2017, a press release from AR stated. It further claimed that he was directed to carry out IED blasts targeting security forces and was accompanied by five CORCOM cadres. They were suspected to be behind the IED attack on personnel of 15 Inf Bn (TA) on May 8, 2017 in which two personnel were killed, the release added.
