Imphal, Jan 20:
Thawai Meerel Convenor Thongam Dara Singh made a startling declaration asserting that the Kukis are like spectral entities dispatched by prominent lawmakers, including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and legislators of the Manipur Government, including ministers and MLAs to kill Meiteis.
During a press conference, Dara emphasized the need for the public to brace themselves against both the Kukis and the lawmakers who allegedly orchestrated their actions. He accused these lawmakers of a duplicitous facade, highlighting their visits to the homes of victims to express sympathy while contending that they are, in fact, the masterminds behind the orchestrated violence perpetrated by the Kukis against the Meiteis.
Continuing his discourse, he emphasized the historical significance of India’s Republic Day, which falls on January 26th. This momentous occasion marks the implementation of the Constitution of India in 1950, officially proclaiming the nation as a sovereign, democratic republic.
However, a somber note followed, as he expressed concern over India’s apparent inability to safeguard its citizens and properties effectively. In light of this perceived inadequacy, he passionately urged the populace to employ a symbolic gesture of protest by prominently displaying black flags. This call extended to various domains, including vehicles, shops, offices, homes, and political organization premises. The appeal aimed to draw attention to what he viewed as a crucial issue, prompting citizens to voice their collective dissent through this visual demonstration.
