Kuki militants challenging right to life by attacking supply lines: FOCS

IT News
Imphal, April 16:

The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) Manipur has strongly condemned the recent attack on oil tankers along the Imphal-Jiribam Highway. In a statement released by FOCS’s Information and Public Relations Secretary Nerish Mangang, it is said that the attack occurred at Keimei in the Tousem Subdivision, originating from Tollen Kuki Village in Tamenglong district, where the tankers were targeted by gunfire.
“This incident is not an isolated one; rather, it marks a recurring pattern of disruption to the supply route to Imphal due to such attacks” FOCS added. Their statement emphasizes that such actions endanger the lives of civilians and disrupt essential services.
FOCS underscores that the actions of Kuki militants represent a direct challenge to the right to life and safety of the people. Therefore, FOCS urges the central government to take decisive legal action against the perpetrators responsible for these attacks on oil tankers, in order to ensure the safety and security of the region.
