Kuki Chiefs’ Association Clarifies

Kuki Chiefs’ Association, Tengnoupal and Machi Sub -division today clarifies that the association  does not have any idea about the involvement of the association regarding a press statement issued by KSO which appeared as news item on this newspaper yesterday under the heading “KSO Threatens Bandh”.
The clarification stated that the Kuki Chiefs’ Association does not have the slightest idea about the involvement of its association regarding the agitation on the shifting of KNO/KNLF Camp from Semol to KNO Harmon Camp Chehlep.
“As far as our knowledge is concern, and being a state subject, shifting of KNLF Camp from Semol comes with the directives of the Government of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) NE Division and we are least concern about it since our primary concerns are of the welfare of villagers and Chiefs of Tengnoupal &Machi Block of Chandel district”, said a statement of the Kuki Chiefs’ Association.
The statement added that association is concern about the overall development of the said sub. division, appreciate the GoI/MHA decision of shifting KNLF/KNO from Semol for the sake of peace and tranquillity of the area. It further said that the association hope the surrendered KNLF/KNO cadres be further shifted to a place other than Chandel district preferably existing KNO area for the sake of peace, harmony or for that matter common good of all the stake holders.
The Kuki Chief’s body also appealed all concerns not to issue irresponsible press statement pertaining to the threatening of peaceful co-existence of the area without mutual agreement or consensus with the association.
