Imphal, Aug 10:

The Kom Tribe Organisation Valley (KTOV) has issued a clarification regarding a recent viral media clip featuring an individual dressed in traditional Kom attire, who declared himself to be a member of the Kom tribe during a mass rally in Delhi organized by Kuki Zo groups. Following thorough inquiries, KTOV has determined that the individual in question is not a member of the Kom tribe but rather belongs to the Kuki Zo community, identified as Mangza Jr Kuki.
In a press release, KTOV clarified that the Kom community has no affiliation with the aforementioned viral clip or the mass rally organized by Kuki Zo in Delhi. The Kom tribe, an indigenous group in Manipur, is committed to peace, harmony, and the territorial integrity of the state, the press release further added.
KTOV strongly condemns this act, which they perceive as an attempt to malign the reputation of the Kom community and also cautioned that there are legal provisions to book such individuals and their action.
