State police had arrested 2 persons among the 19 on August 11 who allegedly assaulted women on July 17. Soon after the arrest 2 persons who identified themselves as cadres of the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) came to the residence of the village chief of the Icum Kom Keirap and ordered him to come to Keithelmanbi before 3 days or face dire consequences, a statement by the Federation of Haomee said.
It added that among the two who identified themselves as KRA includes one Lerkhohao, son of the Chief Dongkham pf Mongbu Village (Near Kamong Khun) in Bishnupur district. The Haomee said that they have reports of this person Lerkhohao indulging in illegal tax collection. The oganisation urged the KRA to clarify whether the 2 persons who had threatened the Village Chief of Ichum Kom Keirak are their cadres or not and also the reason behind the threats to the village chief.
