Imphal, March 29:
The United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by Koireng has condoled the demise of two revolutionary cadres who sacrificed their lives fighting for the revolutionary cause.
A statement by M. Shak-Hen said that two cadres of Manipur’s armed revolutionary groups were killed in a fierce gunfight with the combined force of Indian Army and KNF (B) at the Manipur-Myanmar border on March 25, 2025. The deceased fighters have been identified as Lt. Angom Sanatomba @ Ingo of Meeyamgi Yawol Laanmee (MYL) under KYKL from Phayeng Mayai Leikai and L/Cpl. Maibam Naotomba @ Naatngakpa of PREPAK (Pro) from Serou Makha Leikai.
Koireng led UNLF and its armed wing, the Manipur People’s Army (MPA), issued a statement acknowledging their sacrifice and asserting that the loss of the two fighters has further strengthened their commitment to the movement. According to the statement, the revolutionary groups remain determined to defend Manipur’s sovereignty and resist what they describe as India’s colonial rule.
The Koireng led UNLF reiterated its stance against the Indian Occupation Force (IOF), claiming that India has historically suppressed and exploited Manipur. The organization vowed to continue the armed struggle until Manipur achieves independence.
The group also called upon the people of Manipur, fellow revolutionary organizations, and sympathizers to honor the sacrifices of the fallen cadres and continue supporting the movement.
