The armed group KNF (N) has been splitted into two factions one under the leadership of James and the other (KNF-D) led by Douthanglen over the alleged misappropriation of party funds, according to a reliable source.
It also said that two bodies suspected to be of runaway KNF (N) cadres were recovered from Keithelmanbi Dam near Bongbal Khullen under Yairipok Police Station of Senapati district. The two dead bodies were found in combat dress.
Source also identified them as Paominkhin Vaiphei (26), s/o Akhai of Heiroiland under Yairipok Police Station and Thangam Vaiphei (19), s/o Akam of Gotangkot village under Yairipok Police station.
The two KNF (N) cadres were deserted with 4 AK-47 from their camp two days before to join the Douthanglen’s group, police said.
It also confirmed that they even contact with KNF (D) group to join. The cause of death is suspected to be beaten to dead as no bullet injuries are found on their bodies. However, the reason for their death is not yet known till the filing of this report.
The dead bodies have been brought to JNIMS for postmortem by a team of Yairipok police.
