Many places of Imphal including Khwairamband Keithel inundated after Nambul River flows above warning level due to incessant rainfall since the last night.Till yesterday most of the rivers in Imphal were lean and water level was low. However, water level suddenly increases by few hours’ heavy rainfall since last evening. Many localities on both left and right banks of Nambul Rivers have been flooded with the water overflowed from Nambul River in the morning. Khairamband Keithel and its nearby areas are also flooded with the water overflowed from the River. Other places which are flooded due to overflow of Nambul River include Nagamapal, Waheng Leikai, Singjamei Chingamakha etc.People residing near the banks of Nambul River are facing the threat of flood as the water level of the river still continues to rise. They drew the attention of the concern department to take up precautionary measures.
