Khoupum Tampak flooded, road to Noney severed after heavy rains

Continuous heavy rains since last night have caused severe flooding in Khoupum Tampak, Noney district, completely disrupting the road connection between Khoupum and the Noney District Headquarters.
Water overflowing from the hills and nearby streams due to intense rainfall has inundated several low-lying areas. At least two houses in Khunou Part-1 Gaidimjang and one house in Lubanglong have been flooded. Several electric poles have also been uprooted, causing power outages in the affected areas. The Khoupum Dam is reported to be overflowing, raising fears of further inundation downstream.
A major landslide occurred at the 4/5 area along the Khoupum–Noney road, completely blocking traffic. In response, Nungba AC MLA Dinganglung Gangmei (Diphu) has deployed one JCB machine from his office and another from Keystone Infra Pvt Ltd to clear debris and restore the road at the landslide site.
Authorities have advised against travel on the route as rain continues to fall in the region, making the situation unpredictable. Currently, both civilian movement and transport services between Khoupum and Noney remain suspended. Assessment of the full extent of the damage is ongoing, and many families are reportedly affected.
