Keithel Imas demand Chief Minister to send reinforcements to Moreh

IT News
Imphal, Jan 17:

In the aftermath of the tragic killings of two state security forces in Moreh, the Khwairamband Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee, comprising hundreds of members led by Laishram Mema, undertook a bold attempt to storm the official residence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh in Babupara. Their objective was to demand increased reinforcements for Moreh in order to counteract the Kuki terrorists responsible for targeting and killing state security forces in the region. However, their efforts were thwarted by the Manipur Police near the Gambhir Singh Shopping Complex.
The Committee members engaged in a tense verbal confrontation with the state forces, led by Imphal West Superintendent of Police Ksh. Shivakanta Singh. Laishram Mema, serving as the committee’s spokesperson, raised pointed questions, expressing frustration: “Why is the CM not giving permission to meet us in such circumstances? If he doesn’t meet us today, we will not return home and protest in the streets. He is not in Delhi but in Babupara, why is he taking so much time to meet us?”
Following the standoff, seven members of the committee were eventually permitted to meet with the Chief Minister to discuss the urgent matter. As of the time of writing this news report, there has been no official communication from the committee members regarding the outcome of their meeting within the confines of the CM’s official residence. The situation remains fluid, and concerns persist over the escalating tensions in Moreh.
