Keirao MLA inspects road

Imphal, June 2: The ongoing road maintenance of Yairipok to Waithou stretch of Thiyam Chingjin was inspected by MLA Karam Thamarjit of Keirao AC today along with officials of PWD around 8 am today.

Speaking to the media persons, MLA Karam Thamarjit said that no measures for the maintenance of road between Yairipok to Waithou of Thiyam Chingjin which is 12.2 km long were taken up for the past 20 years. Proposal of 3.5 crore rupees were sought to the concern department but was put on hold due to unlimited fund, he added.
Fortunately, a private firm named Key Stone Infra Private Limited has stretch out their hand to finance the remaining fund for the road maintenance and they have sanction 8.1 crore rupees, he added.
Thamarjit also said that with the support from the Key Stone Infra Private Limited, road maintenance has begun.
Appealing to the concern organisations and people of the areas, Thamarjit further said that no hinders should be given to the workers since the road is being travel by more than 5 villagers of the area, the labours will work day and night so that the maintenance could be completed as soon as possible.
It has been known that the said Yairipok to Waithou stretch of Thiyam Chingjin is being used by many when there is travelling disturbance at Imphal-Moreh road due to bandh and blockade.
