Imphal, May 6:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) today announced the release of its biannual journal titled Lanthengminasi Eikhoi (Kalen Pantha). In a statement issued by S. Mangal, Secretary-in-Charge of Information & Publicity, the outfit outlined the key themes and articles featured in the latest edition of the publication.
The journal opens with an editorial titled “Bharat Ki Tunglamchat: Machet Tana Kaiba Soidrabra?” which reportedly reflects on India’s internal structural challenges. Other articles include a piece discussing the relevance of understanding one’s history in shaping present-day collective identity, titled “Eikhoigi Puwarigi Mamal Khangbana Mutpadagi Eikhoibu Kanba Ngamhan-gani.” Another article, “Yawollup Pumnamakna Punna Louminnadaba Yadraba Puwarigi Thoudang Louminnarasi,” examines past revolutionary movements and draws lessons for the present.
The journal also addresses contemporary youth issues in the article “Eikhoi Loi Macha Oire Khanglabadi Isabu Kanjanaba Lambisu Khanglakkani,” while a piece titled “Chahi Ani Faraklaba Kangleipakki Erang” reflects on two years of political developments in Manipur. Cultural identity is explored through the lens of geopolitical influence in “Meitei Namthanaba India Leingakna Chattharakba Proxy War,” which alleges efforts of cultural assimilation.
Commemorating International Workers’ Day, the journal includes a write-up titled “May Day: A Celebration of Labor and Spring.” It also revisits the historical political landscape in “Pre-Merger Political Status of Manipur,” and delves into the contributions of Hijam Irabot and the importance of the Manipuri language in a dedicated article.
