The Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) MC Unification has announced a public boycott of Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noor Hassan and declared that he would be barred from contesting future elections over allegations of involvement in the misappropriation of public funds through a finance firm.
In a statement issued by the outfit’s PRO Chingkheinganba KCP, Lamyanba Khuman, the armed group alleged that Sheikh Noor Hassan, his brother Sheikh Abdul Hakim, Director of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, and their elder brother Sheikh Noor Rahman, presently serving as India’s Ambassador to Lebanon, were associated with the operation of “Paari Mutual Benefit Nidhi Ltd” and Halal Finance at New Checkon Hatta several years ago.
The outfit alleged that the firm, reportedly run under the chairmanship of Abdul Hakim, misappropriated public deposits amounting to Rs. 45,95,03,500. Describing the alleged fraud as a grave offence against the public, it announced the boycott of the Kshetrigao legislator and declared that he would not be allowed to contest any future election.
The statement also urged the concerned government authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the role of Sheikh Abdul Hakim. Additionally, the outfit directed the individuals named in the statement to surrender before the organisation within 72 hours, warning that it would otherwise take what it termed as “serious action.”
